Today's Scripture

"When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."  -Colossians 2:13-15 (NIV)

Additional Scripture

Revelation 12:10-11 (NKJV)

Reflect on the Word

It is finished! In Jesus, the law is satisfied, our debt is paid, and the enemy of our soul is defeated. All strivings cease through the victory of the cross. Our confession of faith and identification with Christ clothes us in His righteousness, setting us free from the accuser. We are liberated by the blood of Jesus under the authority of God's word, empowered to overcome the dark forces of this world.

Prayer & Contemplation

  1. Pause, breathe and contemplate the reality of Christ's fulfillment of the law, your identification with Him, and the resulting victory over the powers of darkness.
  2. Contend for loved ones who are seeking righteousness by their own strength, that they would recognize and receive that which was already accomplished through the cross.
  3. Ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate ways you rely on self-sufficiency or lean into legalism, and allow Him to bring corrective healing to those areas.
