1 Chronicles 26:12, 16-18 (Message)
These teams of security guards, supervised by their leaders, kept order in The Temple of God, keeping up the traditions of their ancestors. The guards stood shoulder to shoulder: six Levites per day on the east, four per day on the north and on the south, and two at a time at the storehouse. At the open court to the west, four guards were posted on the road and two at the court.
As the guardsmen of our families and our church, our men are committed to meet regularly to lift each other up, hold one another accountable, and share how God is working in our lives. The group is focused on the disciplines of a Godly man. We are learning what the Word teaches about personal purity and masculine, Godly character. We are discovering how to be better husbands and fathers, finding where and how we are called to serve the body of Christ, and balancing the demands of work and family with the necessity of basing everything we do on a strong and consistent walk with the Lord. Our activities combine twice-monthly meetings with plans for service projects and gathering for social outings. The men of our church stand shoulder-to-shoulder with each other – building those horizontal relationships and exhorting each other to strive for strength, honor and excellence in all we do.
