Today's Scripture

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take." -Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

Supplies

  • 9 sheets of paper
  • Pen

Reflect on the Word

Write Proverbs 3:5-6 on several sheets of paper, dividing the verse out in 6-8 sections. Create a "path" with the papers on the floor. Travel the path, reciting the verse along the way. Mix things up by finding creative ways to travel the path (like jumping, skipping or crawling). What does it look like to trust in God? What does it mean to seek His will?

Trusting in God can be hard, but God is always trustworthy. When we say God is trustworthy, we mean that He is always good, He always loves us, He always hears us, and He always does what He says He'll do.

We can look in the Bible and read about God's trustworthiness. We can listen to other people share testimonies and hear that God is trustworthy. The Holy Spirit helps us trust Him more with the promise that He will show us which path to take.

Reflect, pray + bless

  1. Reflect: We can trust God with our cares and fears, no matter how impossible or silly they may seem.
  2. Pray: Take a sheet of paper and draw a vertical line down the center to create two columns. Label the left column "Ways God has provided." Label the right column "Where I need to trust God." Prayerfully fill in both columns by writing or drawing pictures.
  3. Bless: "[Child's name], trust in God with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. May you seek Him in all you do, knowing that He will show you which path to take."
