Today's Scripture

"And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out. 'Abba, Father.' Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir." -Galatians 4:6-7 (NLT)

Supplies

Reflect on the Word

What are words you would use to describe yourself? Share with on another.

What are the words God uses to describe us? Some examples from the Bible include loved, choses, redeemed, known, forgiven, beloved and adopted.

Distribute the paper and coloring supplies. Take time to quietly pray and respond to the question, "God, who do You say that I am?" Play the song while family members illustrate words or pictures that come to mind. At the end of the song, take time to share your drawings and pray together.

Reflect, pray + bless

  1. Reflect: Do you know God loves you and calls you His child?
  2. Pray: We never have to be afraid when we come before God because we are children of the King. But we can still approach Him as King, with reverence. Try praying together in a bowing posture, as one might in front of a king.
  3. Bless: "[Child's name], may you know that your Heavenly Father loves you. May you see yourself reflected in the eyes of the Father. You are a gift, you are beloved, you have been chosen, and you are a child of God."
