Today's Scripture
How blessed is God! And what a blessing He is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in Him. Long before He laid down earth's foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago He decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure He took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of His lavish gift-giving by the hand of His belived Son.
- Ephesians 1:3-6 (MSG)
All of us are in need of healing. We were made by a good God for a perfect world, but the presence of sin means our world isn’t perfect. It’s broken and hurting. The good news? God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, into this broken world to bring forever healing (John 3:16).
God is the healer of our bodies, our minds and our hearts. He can heal our bodies when we’re sick. He can heal our hearts when we’re hurting. Best of all, He can heal our souls and our relationship with God through Jesus our Savior.
There is no sickness in our bodies or souls that He can’t heal. Our healing might not happen when we want it to. Some healing won’t happen until we are in heaven. But we know and trust that, as we spend time with God, He is always at work healing us, restoring us and making us more like Jesus.
As a family, work on memorizing this verse from today’s Scripture reading: “Long before He laid down earth’s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love.” Grab a piece of paper and write it out, placing it somewhere where you and your family will regularly see it (bathroom mirror, fridge door, on the table). Over the next several days, practice reading it out loud when you see it.
Share something you're asking Jesus to heal in your body, mind or spirit. Take time to pray for one another, individually and out loud, asking God to grow your faith as you believe in Him for healing.
